Treatment Systems

01.01Which treatment system does my project need?

System selection depends on your water source, raw water quality, required treated output, site area, and application. Domestic sewage typically requires an STP, industrial effluent requires an ETP, raw source water purification requires a WTP, and high-recovery sites require a ZLD system.

01.02What information is required before selecting a treatment system?

Key parameters include raw water or wastewater analysis reports (BOD, COD, TSS, TDS, pH), peak flow rates, daily volumetric requirements, target treated water standards, available footprint, and power availability.

01.03Are Nitaneer systems standard products or project specific?

Nitaneer treatment systems are process-engineered and configured around project-specific wastewater chemistry, site constraints, and operational goals, utilizing modular or skid-mounted container plant architectures where suitable.

01.04Can treatment systems be designed for water reuse?

Yes. Systems can incorporate tertiary polishing, membrane filtration, or disinfection stages to meet non-potable reuse standards for industrial processes, cooling towers, toilet flushing, or site landscaping.

GROUP 02

STP (Sewage Treatment Plant)

02.01What is an STP?

A Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) treats domestic wastewater originating from commercial complexes, residential townships, institutions, and industrial facilities by removing biological and chemical contaminants prior to safe discharge or reuse.

02.02Where is an STP typically required?

STPs are required for commercial centers, residential developments, industrial parks, hotels, hospitals, and manufacturing facilities to comply with pollution control board discharge norms and local water recycling mandates.

02.03What determines STP capacity?

STP capacity is calculated from facility occupancy, per capita daily water consumption, peak hourly flow factors, and site-specific hydraulic loading parameters.

02.04Can an STP be containerised or modular?

Yes. Containerised and skid-mounted STPs integrate screening, equalisation, biological treatment, filtration, and automated controls into compact factory-built units designed for minimal footprint and simplified site deployment.

02.05Does Nitaneer provide operation and maintenance support?

Yes. Nitaneer provides technical commissioning, spare parts supply, process guidance, and structured Operation & Maintenance (O&M) service agreements tailored to facility requirements.

GROUP 03

ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant)

03.01What is the difference between an STP and an ETP?

An STP is designed specifically for domestic sewage containing biological organic matter. An ETP is engineered for complex industrial effluent containing specific chemicals, heavy metals, oils, dyes, or high COD/BOD concentrations.

03.02Why does industrial effluent require project-specific treatment?

Industrial effluent chemistry varies widely across manufacturing sectors (such as chemicals, textiles, pharmaceuticals, and food processing). Generic off-the-shelf plants frequently fail to meet stringent regulatory parameters.

03.03What information is needed before designing an ETP?

Designing an ETP requires a comprehensive effluent laboratory analysis, manufacturing process description, raw material chemical data, hourly flow variations, site layout drawings, and target PCB discharge standards.

GROUP 04

WTP (Water Treatment Plant)

04.01What is a Water Treatment Plant?

A Water Treatment Plant (WTP) conditions raw water sourced from borewells, surface water bodies, or municipal lines to produce clean water suitable for industrial processes, boiler feed, cooling towers, or utility supply.

04.02What determines the treatment process in a WTP?

The process scheme is governed by raw water contaminants (such as hardness, iron, silica, turbidity, or total dissolved solids) and the specific quality thresholds required by downstream equipment or applications.

04.03Can a WTP include membrane treatment?

Yes. WTP configurations frequently incorporate media filtration, activated carbon, ultrafiltration (UF), reverse osmosis (RO), and demineralisation (DM) units depending on raw water characteristics.

GROUP 05

ZLD (Zero Liquid Discharge)

05.01What is Zero Liquid Discharge?

Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) is an advanced water-treatment process designed to recover virtually all usable water from industrial wastewater, leaving only dry solid mineral residue for disposal and eliminating liquid effluent discharge.

05.02Does every industrial project require ZLD?

No. ZLD is typically mandated in water-scarce zones, environmentally sensitive basins, or for specific industrial sectors under statutory Zero Liquid Discharge regulatory directives.

05.03What determines water recovery in a ZLD system?

Recovery rates depend on raw wastewater dissolved solids composition, concentration limits of membrane technology, thermal evaporator efficiency, and site energy balances.

GROUP 06

Ground Water NOC

06.01Does Nitaneer issue Ground Water NOCs?

No. Nitaneer does not issue NOCs. Nitaneer assists commercial and industrial applicants with groundwater NOC documentation, technical report compilation, statutory application filing, and coordination. Official approval remains entirely subject to the applicable regulatory authority, regulations, project category, and site conditions.

06.02What does Ground Water NOC assistance include?

Assistance includes evaluating project water requirements, organizing required technical documentation, hydrogeological report assistance, rainwater harvesting plan guidance, application filing support, and follow-up query coordination.

06.03Is NOC approval guaranteed?

No. Approval is never guaranteed and remains strictly subject to statutory regulations, authority assessment, aquifer categorization (Safe / Semi-Critical / Critical / Over-Exploited), and site compliance.

06.04What documents are required for a Ground Water NOC?

Required documentation depends on site location, industry classification, land ownership records, and proposed daily groundwater abstraction volume. Nitaneer first reviews project details to provide a site-specific document checklist.

Project & Operations

07.01How does a project enquiry begin?

You can submit your facility location, water/wastewater problem, or NOC requirement through our contact form. A Nitaneer water engineer will review your project parameters and outline next steps.

07.02What details should I send Nitaneer?

Useful initial details include facility location, industry type, expected daily water requirement or wastewater volumes, available water analysis reports, site space availability, and target timeline.

07.03Can Nitaneer support an existing treatment plant?

Yes. Nitaneer evaluates existing STPs, ETPs, and WTPs for operational troubleshooting, process optimization, capacity upgrades, and regulatory compliance audits.

07.04Is O&M support available?

Yes. Operation & Maintenance (O&M) contracts, spare parts management, and routine technical support services are available based on project scope and facility requirements.
